Sister City

The Hastings International Exchange Organization

HIEO is sponsoring the fourth Hastings Tour to our Sister City Ozu, Japan from March 17th to March 26, 2006 to commemorate the tenth anniversary of our sister city relationship.

As guests of our sister city and the Ozu International Exchange Committee, we will be treated to some of the most wonderful hospitality and sights of rural and urban life in southern Japan.  If we are lucky, the cherry trees will also be in bloom.

The City of Hastings gave this piece of art to their sister city, Ozu, on their recent trip.

Almost all nights will be spent as guests of a Japanese host family (two guests per family).

During the day the Ozu Committee will arrange tours to the most outstanding sites in this part of Japan.  On the weekend there will be free time in which your host family will usually take you to one of their favorite spots in the region.

We hope that the total per person cost of this trip will be about $1950.  This includes round trip airfare on an FAA certified airline, hotels, all meals except your lunches and personal purchases.

Space is very limited and those who would like to join us will be accepted in the order they contact HIEO with a $100 deposit.  A standby list will be maintained.

Your tour is sponsored by the Hastings International Exchange Committee, and is being organized by Denny Storer, Professor Emeritus of Anthropology at Hastings College.  Call or email Denny at 463-4478 or cdstorer@inebraska.com for details.  The trip includes a pre departure orientation on Japanese culture, language and geography.
