Proceeds to will go to the Special Children's Fund and Girls on the Run!!
COURSE
The relay will start at Hastings Lake, over to Kenesaw, down to
Holstein, to Roseland, up to Juniata and end back in Hastings at the
Auditorium. The relay is approximately 60 miles. This relay is like no
other race here in central Nebraska. You will be running on country
roads where you might not see any cars for miles and the scenery will be
more and more and even more corn!
HOW THE RELAY WORKS
The teams will consist of 5-7 people. Each person will run two to three
times, with each exchange being 3-5 miles. There will be 14 exchange
points throughout the relay. Teams can enter under one of three
different categories, men’s, women’s, or co-ed. The co-ed division must
have at least three females on their team. Gift card prizes will be
awarded for first place in each category.
Each team is required
to provide a driver, drinks, and food for their team during the race.
POST RACE PARTY
The last ½ block of the race, all team members are welcome to join their
teammate and cross the finish line together. The finish line will be in
the Downtown City Park in Hastings. We will have an area set up for
water, fruit, and various post-race snacks for the runners. The entry
fee will include a long-sleeve T-shirt for each team member, as well as
beverages following the race.

Information about the charities we’ve selected:
Special Children’s Fund helps
families by providing financial assistance for costs that are not
covered by insurance or other sources. Examples include specialized
formulas for babies, gas money to/from doctor’s appointments and phone
cards for families away from home. Special packets are given to every
family that is sent from Mary Lanning to another hospital, such as Omaha
Medical Center, Omaha Children’s Hospital, or Mayo in an emergent
situation.
Girls on the Run is a
life-changing, experiential learning programs for girls age eight to
thirteen years old. The programs combine training for a 3.1 mile
running event with self-esteem enhancing, uplifting workouts. The goal
of the programs are to encourage positive emotional, social, mental,
spiritual and physical development. Our goal is to continue work in
commencing a council for the young girls here in our community.
