summary

Under the supervision of the Instrument Technician (PCF), performs a variety of troubleshooting, repair and maintenance duties at Pollution Control Facility, Municipal Water/Sewer System, and Municipal Natural Gas System. to ensure proper operation and automation of equipment including pumps, boilers, generators, water treatment systems, grinders, and air handling.  Regular tuning, calibration and repairs required on equipment such as: gauges, switches, sensors, PLCs, VFDs, Gas Chromatographs, and other monitoring equipment as well as some electrical and mechanical work.

Typical duties include assisting in:

  • Performs maintenance, inspection, and setting, calibrating, repairing and programming all fuel, water, air and electric/electronic and mechanical meters, gauges, recorders, auxiliary apparatus, signal controls, HVAC controls, gas detection, transmitters, boiler controls, generator controls, fixtures, transformers and breakers.
  • Performs the maintenance of programmable logic controllers, human machine interface, servers, and plant control networks.
  • Creates and modifies program logic and equipment tuning.
  • Reads/Develops and interprets blueprints, diagrams, schematics and drawings.
  • Maintains the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • May be required to help with operational duties of the plant.

qualifications

Any combination of training, education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, supplemented by additional course work in mechanical and electrical theory with three years’ experience servicing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, electronic and pneumatic equipment. Three years’ experience in automation and electrical communication systems.

SpECial requirements

Possess a valid driver's license
Reside within 30 minutes of duty station, per Google Maps

HOURS

40 hours per week, Monday thru Friday during the day.  May be called upon to help during emergencies or widespread outages.
