summary

Performs general mechanical plant maintenance involving the troubleshooting, installing, repairing and maintaining of equipment necessary to the operation of the electrical generation plants and AQCS system.

Typical duties include, but are not limited to:

  • General plant maintenance, upkeep and repair including pumps, motors, fans, coal pulverizers, air compressors and other apparatus.
  • Performs installation of new plant equipment.
  • Assists in major overhaul work on plant equipment, including turbine generator.
  • Completes work orders for maintaining, repairing or installing equipment and compiles information.
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots malfunctioning equipment and makes correction actions.

qualifications

  • Any combination of training and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, plus five years in a mechanical equipment repair position.
  • Minimum of one year coal power plant mechanic experience preferred.
  • Certification, and/or formal training in a power plant related field, which includes but is not limited to:  welding, HVAC, machining, mechanic, vibration analysis, asbestos removal, or shaft alignment preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

HOURS

40 hours per week
Work is normally performed Monday through Friday during day-time hours but may be called upon at other times of an emergency nature or as otherwise required.

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT

30 minutes from duty station, per Google Maps within six months of date of hire.
