Emergency Operations Center

summary

Exercises supervision of and coordinates operations of the Emergency 911 Center. Performs a variety of administrative and technical duties in support of the department.  Must be able to operate radio, telephone and computer at the emergency response center.  Receive reports from the public of crimes, disturbances, fires, and medical or police emergencies.   Relay information to appropriate response personnel.  May maintain contact with caller until responders arrive. 

qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. 
  • Prior work experience within a 911 Center or equivalent is preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred. 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, certification in the operation of the National Crime Information Computer within twelve months of hire.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Nebraska Driver’s license.

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT

Must live within 30 miles from duty station, per Google maps.

HOURS

Exempt (salaried) position. 80 hours every two weeks. Subject to on-call duty after hours during potential and actual emergency or disaster situations.
