Water and Wastewater Superintendent



description of work

Performs technical and supervisory work involving all aspects of the local water production, distribution, and treatment systems and the sewer collection system including the lift stations.  Oversees the Aquifer Storage Reclamation (ASR) Facility, and the Pollution Control Facility. Ensures quality of the departments work and compliance with all local, state and federal rules, regulations and codes.

  • Supervisory duties for all water and sewer personnel
    • Scheduling, evaluating, task assignments, discipline, conflict resolution, coaching and training, etc.
  • Administrative duties for the water and sewer department
    • Reports; Enforce practices and procedures; Assist with one and six year capital and maintenance budgets; Assist with preparation of specifications and bid documents.
  • Operational duties for the water and sewer department
    • Make recommendations; Oversee operations of department facilities; Review efficiency; etc.

Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to 10 years experience in planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of water production, distribution, and treatment systems and sewer collection systems or equivalent experience.  Three years or greater of supervisory experience required.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

residency requirement

  • Must live within 15 minutes of duty station, per Google maps, within 6 months if hire date.


This is a full-time, FLSA exempt position.  May be called upon at other times of an emergency nature or as otherwise required.
