South lane of 12th St. to be closed around Bellevue Ave.
The southern, eastbound lane of 12th Street will be closed around Bellevue Avenue beginning Monday, Aug. 26.
A crew from the City of Hastings water department will repair a water main that feeds a fire hydrant at the corner of 12th Street and Bellevue Avenue. Work is scheduled to begin on that project Monday and be complete by Wednesday.
There will be merging traffic while one lane is blocked. The public is encouraged to slow down and drive with caution.
Also, north lane traffic may be diverted later in the week. The hydrant will be moved further north on Bellevue, away from 12th Street.
Moving the hydrant is safer for traffic and makes maintenance easier.
