Hastings Utilities to resume bill collection procedures

Hastings Utilities has been monitoring the impact of COVID-19 on the community for several months, working to ease the burden on customers affected by the pandemic. As restrictions continue to lift statewide, Hastings Utilities will ease into normal bill collection procedures.

On March 18, Hastings Utilities announced the suspension of door postings and utility shutoffs for nonpayment. The department will resume those bill collection procedures beginning on Aug. 3.

If you are still having trouble paying your bill, please reach out to a customer service representative at 402-463-1371 to learn about some steps you can take.

Due to renovations at the business office at 1228 N. Denver Ave., the lobby will remain closed to the public until the project is complete. Customers are encouraged to pay their utility bills online or by dropping a payment off at one of the several drop boxes across the city. Hastings Utilities is continuing to credit the $3.75 convenience fee for online payments back to customers’ accounts at this time.

A drive-thru window is also available at City Hall at 220 N. Hastings Ave. for cash payments requiring a receipt from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday. Customers are asked to have their account numbers available to make the process as quick as possible.
