Hastings Fire and Rescue to host 9/11 ceremony

The public is invited to attend a short ceremony to commemorate the 19th anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and United Airlines Flight 93.

The ceremony will be held at noon on Friday, Sept. 11 at Hastings Fire and Rescue Station #2 located at 1145 S. Hastings Ave. Hastings Fire and Rescue and Livingston Butler-Volland Funeral Home are working together to provide the ceremony. 

The ceremony will allow participants to join HFR as they pay homage to their brothers and sisters in emergency services who paid the ultimate price that day, as well as others who lost their lives on 9/11 and all those serving in the military who gave their lives while protecting our freedom.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the ceremony will be held outside in the north parking lot with a limited capacity of 50 people. Seating in accordance with the 6-foot social distancing requirements will be provided and masks are required for all those who attend. Please park on South Hastings Avenue and enter through the west entrance point.
