Hastings Fire and Rescue, Hastings Museum to host 9/11 memorial events

The City of Hastings will mark the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks with several memorial events.

On Saturday, Sept. 11, members of the public will have the opportunity to participate in events across the city, including the following:

  • 9 a.m. - 7 p.m., Hastings Museum: 9/11 Exhibit
    Admission: Free for Members, Non-Members: $8 Adults, $6 Children & $7 Seniors
  • 10:30-11:15 a.m., Hastings Museum: Video Tour of the 9/11 Museum & Memorial
    This is a tour recorded specifically for the 20th anniversary. Admission: Freewill Offering.
  • 1 – 3 p.m., Duncan Field: Hastings Community Observance
    Join Hastings Fire and Rescue, community leaders, and guest speakers for this free program.
  • 4 - 4:45 p.m., Hastings Museum: Video Tour of the 9/11 Museum & Memorial
    This is a tour recorded specifically for the 20th anniversary. Admission: Freewill Offering.
  • 7 p.m., Hastings Museum: United 93 (R)
    First released in 2006, it presents a real-time account of the events on United Flight 93, one of the planes hijacked on September 11, that crashed near Shanksville, PA, when passengers foiled the terrorist plot. Tickets: $5.50.

Hastings Fire and Rescue will also have an apparatus display beginning at 1 p.m. at Duncan Field, including equipment from HFR and surrounding communities. The display will continue to be available to the public following the 9/11 Hastings Community Observance at Duncan Field.

The ceremony will be hosted by Hastings Fire and Rescue and sponsored by Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
