Shawn Metcalf accepts City Administrator position
The City of Hastings is pleased to announce that Shawn Metcalf of Rawlins, Wyoming has accepted the City Administrator position for the City of Hastings.
The Hastings City Council approved his appointment during their regular session meeting on Tuesday, September 27th.
“Shawn exceeded our expectations and was the unanimous choice among the 12-member panel,” said Mayor Corey Stutte. “He possesses strong leadership skills and his professional background demonstrated his effectiveness in communication and transparency. Shawn emphasized during his interview a commitment to building trust with our employees and the community. He is a forward thinker and I am excited that Shawn and his family will be joining the Hastings community.”
Metcalf is currently the City Manager/CEO for the City of Rawlins, Wyoming—a position he has held since September of 2020. His prior experience includes leadership roles in finance and human resources. He served as the Associate Vice President of Human Resources for Uintah Basin Technical College in Roosevelt, Utah and was the Assistant City Manager/Finance Director for the City of Roosevelt. He also held positions in budget management for the City of San Antonio, Texas.
The City Council will review the final contract with Metcalf in October, and his official start date will be announced at that time.
