Paving project planned on 100 block of Laird Avenue
The City of Hastings will close the 100 block of Laird Avenue to through traffic beginning Monday, July 22, depending on weather, so Street Department crews can completely replace the 150 feet of concrete pavement just north of the BNSF Railway tracks.
The 150 feet included in the project area will be completely closed for the duration of the project, which is anticipated to be completed by Aug. 9
One property is included in the project area, but crews will work around that property so access is retained there.
Signs announcing the closure will be posted at Second Street and Laird Avenue, as well as on A Street. Laird Avenue will be closed on the south side of the BNSF Railway tracks, so northbound traffic will need to use West South Street.
