Heat Press
Make customized gifts, t-shirts, mugs, hats, etc. with the Geo Knight DK20 Digital Combo Multi-Purpose Press. Heat press designs onto fabric, metals, wood, and more with the 14"x16" flat bed. With the mug and hat press attachments, you can add any design to sublimation coated mugs and fabric hats.
Age Requirements & Certification:
Certification training from library staff is required to use the heat press. Certification takes approximately one hour and may be scheduled in advance via the Library Calendar or by calling the library at (402) 461-2346.
Users 18 years and older can use the machine unsupervised after completing certification. Anyone ages 14 through 17 is welcome to use the heat press after certification and if accompanied by an adult 18 and older who has also been certified.
Things to Know:
You can bring in your own digital design for your projects, or you can use the design software, available on the Makerspace computers. Most file formats are compatible.
Sublimation paper is needed to print designs on to surfaces. Sheets are available for purchase in the Makerspace, or you are welcome to bring your own. Sublimation paper must be 8.5" x 11" to be compatible with the Makerspace printer.
If you are pressing your design on fabric, please note that the fabric should be 60% polyester or higher and that lighter fabrics provide better results. If you are using iron on products, cotton or polyester fabrics are acceptable.
Additional items can be pressed with the heat press. You may bring your own materials, but they must be specially treated for the sublimation process and approved for use. There are also items available to purchase in the Makerspace.

Software & Additional Materials:
The Makerspace computers have design software including Corel Draw and Word, as well as Internet access available for online applications. Additional materials and tools are available for use in the Makerspace, including flash drives, scissors, irons, ironing boards, heat press tape, Teflon sheets, parchment paper, heat resistant gloves, rulers, and more.
