Light-weight debris prohibited at landfill Nov. 20 due to wind
The Hastings Solid Waste Landfill at 725 S. Southern Hills Drive is prohibiting light-weight debris the rest of the day on Nov. 20, while a wind advisory is in place.
With wind speeds of 24.2 mph and gusts of 41 mph, the wind advisory began at 12:30 p.m. and is anticipated to be in place the rest of the day.
Heavier debris, such as wood waste, construction debris, furniture and even standard household trash – as long as it is properly bagged – still is permitted at the landfill during a wind advisory.
