HFR responds to fire at Thermo King
Hastings Fire & Rescue responded to a structure fire on Wednesday Feb. 5 at Thermo King, 1800 Centennial Ave.
Firefighters were dispatched around 7 p.m., and the fire was under control about 45 minutes later.
Firefighters were called to a fire at the exhaust stack on the roof.
When firefighters arrived, they were directed by staff to the paint booth area. Firefighters found an active fire in the roofline in and around the air handling unit.
The cause of the fire and extent of the damage are under investigation.
No injuries were reported.
Thermo King night staff members were evacuated, and sent home due to the firefighting activities.
Hastings Rural Volunteer Fire Department provided mutual aid.
Hastings Utilities disconnected services. The Hastings Police Department also responded to the incident.
