HPL to host open house about the plans for greenspace
The Hastings Public Library is excited to announce an open house event 3 p.m., Feb. 22 to showcase the plans for the lot next door purchased by the Hastings Library Foundation in the fall of 2022. This exciting new greenspace will serve as an extension of the library, providing a natural, welcoming environment for community gatherings, library programs, and outdoor activities.
The open house will be held at the Hastings Public Library, located at 314 N. Denver Ave. in Meeting Room AB on the second floor.
The open house will feature a presentation of the project’s design plans created by the architects, along with information on project timelines and current progress. Attendees will have the opportunity to view the designs and are encouraged to provide feedback.
This new greenspace aims to provide a multi-functional outdoor venue for library programs, community events, and leisure activities, designed to blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings. The space is intended to enhance the library's role as a community hub, providing an accessible, beautiful location for all to enjoy.
“We’re thrilled to invite our community members to learn about and participate in this project,” said Sam Rundle, Programming and Collections Supervisor. “This greenspace is designed with everyone in mind—offering a space where people can connect and explore, engage in educational programs, and participate in community events.”
