March to be busy month for programming at Hastings Museum
March 2025 is a busy month for the Hastings Museum. Among the programming offerings include several astronomical activities, return of the popular Adams County Cruise and an event that explores the fusion of art and beer.

Astral Adventures
Astral Adventures is our latest family program that takes place 9:30 a.m.-noon on Saturday, March 1 at the Hastings Museum.
Join us for an amazing day at the museum and an unforgettable adventure among the stars through hands-on activities. Students will learn about the mysteries of space and the James Webb Space Telescope while creating a rocket, planet and galaxy.
Tickets are $4 for members and $4 plus museum admission for non-members. These can be purchased online or in person.
Art After Dark
Art After Dark is a 21+ over event that takes place 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, March 8 at the Hastings Museum.
Explore the fusion of art and beer in this fun and unique class where participants paint using beer as their medium. Participants will learn from guest instructor, Christine Brown, Director of Learning and Engagement at the Museum of Nebraska Art and enjoy a cash bar from First Street Brewing.
Tickets are $15 for members and $20 for non-members. These can be purchased online or in person.
Observe the Moon
Observe the Moon takes place 8:30-9:45 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11 at Brickyard Park.
During this free event, all community members are invited to observe the nearly full moon with the museum's telescope. Planetarium Coordinator, Kirk Rosberg, will be on hand to answer your astronomy questions.
This event is weather permitting. If it is too cloudy, the event will not be rescheduled.
Live Sky Tonight
Live Sky Tonight takes place on Tuesday, March 25 from 8:45-9:45 p.m. at Brickyard Park.
During this free event, learn about constellations and stars with Planetarium Coordinator, Kirk Rosberg. Community members have the opportunity to get their astronomy questions answered and learn about the night sky live with museum staff.
This event is weather permitting. If it is too cloudy, the event will not be rescheduled.
Adams County Cruise
The Adams County Cruise takes place on Saturday, March 29. There is a morning cruise from 8:30 a.m.-noon and afternoon cruise from 1-4:30 p.m.
We are bringing history to life in a fun way with trivia and light-hearted reenactments with this 3.5-hour tour around the eastside of the county. We’ll stop at historic landmarks, villages past and present, and little places you’ve probably never heard of.
Tickets are $35 for members and $50 for non-members. These can be purchased online or in person.
The films “Flow” and “Mufasa” and large format films “Animal Kingdom,” “Blue Whales,” and “Wings Over Water” on the super screen.
In the planetarium is “Live Sky Tonight,” “Seeing,” and “Phantom of the Universe.”
The Hastings Museum also has a temporary exhibit, “Experience the Cosmos: The James Webb Space Telescope,” ending in the middle of the month and a new one, “Tet and the Battle of Hue, on display March 24-May 25.
