First four Hastings parks restrooms to open for season on March 25
Hastings Parks and Recreation will reopen several restrooms for the summer season on Tuesday, March 25.
Restrooms in Heartwell, Crosier, Lake Hastings, Lincoln Park will reopen. Those restrooms have heaters which aid functionality even when temperatures can be chilly.
The timeline for when the rest of the park restrooms reopen is weather contingent.
If Hastings continues to have nice weather, other park restrooms could reopen as soon as early April.
The other parks restrooms do not have heaters, so there is a risk of them freezing if temperatures drop.
Having the heaters in place allows Hastings Parks and Recreation to take a more proactive approach to reopening restrooms as early as possible because they are used a lot by baseball teams, people walking, families at playgrounds, and fishermen in early spring so Hastings Parks and Rec will open them as soon as it is deemed safe to do so.
