Learn to Fly Day includes open house and pancake breakfast on May 17

The public is invited to an open house and pancake breakfast from 7:30-11 a.m., Saturday May, 17 at the Hastings Municipal Airport, 3106 W. 12th St.

Aircraft will be flying in from all over Nebraska and the pilots look to share their passion for aviation. The event is organized by Hastings Experimental Aircraft Association Hastings Chapter 544 and the Hastings Airport Association. Freewill donations will be accepted.

The goal is to generate interest in learning to fly among members of the public of all ages.

Learn to Fly Day ties into Learn to Fly Week, May 13-17, organized by the national EAA organization.

Flight Instructor Dan Spellman will lead a presentation several times throughout the event on how to get started on your license.

“If you like airplanes, pancakes, or have an interest in learning to fly, don’t miss this event,” said Aaron Schardt, member of EAA Chapter 544.

For more information contact Spellman at (303) 913-3731.
