HPL S.T.E.A.M. Tweens to include Flowserve engineering students

The Hastings Public Library is thrilled to announce an exciting new chapter for its popular S.T.E.A.M. Tweens program. Beginning Tuesday, Aug. 5, the program will welcome four engineering students from across the country, participating in a program with Flowserve, a global leader in engineering solutions.

These student engineers will work alongside library staff to create and lead innovative, hands-on activities in science, technology, engineering, art, and math—all designed for curious minds ages 8–12. Each week’s session will bring new challenges and discoveries, guided by real-world problem-solvers and fueled by creativity and critical thinking.

“Kids already love coming to S.T.E.A.M. Tweens,” said Sam Rundle, Programming and Collections Supervisor. “With the addition of these talented students and their fresh ideas, we’re taking it to the next level.”

The S.T.E.A.M. Tweens program will continue to be every Tuesday at 4:30 PM, free and open to the public. Depending on the needs of the program, the program may be held in the Makerspace, meeting rooms, or the Children’s Classroom within the library at 314 N. Denver Ave. The specific location will be listed on our online calendar, www.hastingslibrary.events.mylibrary.digital.

This unique partnership between the Hastings Public Library and Flowserve brings together community learning and professional mentorship in an inspiring new way.
