HPL to celebrate National Library Card Sign Up Month in September
The Hastings Public Library is joining libraries nationwide in celebrating National Library Card Sign-Up Month this September. Since 1987, the American Library Association has designated September as a time to remind everyone of the power of a library card—the most valuable card in your wallet.
To mark the occasion, the Hastings Public Library is hosting a grand prize drawing. Throughout September:
New sign-ups: Anyone who signs up for a library card will be entered.
Updates: Current cardholders who update their account information will also be eligible.
Referrals: Community members who refer a friend or family member with a referral card will receive an entry as well. Referral cards are available at the library.
The grand prize is $30 in Chamber Bucks, which can be spent like cash at businesses throughout Adams County. All applications and referral cards must be turned in by Sept. 30. The drawing winner will be announced on Oct. 1.
“Library Card Sign-Up Month is the perfect time to discover all the resources the library has to offer,” said Sam Rundle, programming librarian. “From books and digital media to programs and community events, a library card opens the door to endless possibilities.”
