Hastings Museum and CCC launch History Means Business speaker series

The Hastings Museum and the Central Community College Entrepreneurship
Center are pleased to announce the launch of their new monthly event series, “History Means Business,” designed to bridge the rich business -heritage of Hastings with the modern challenges and opportunities of entrepreneurship.

Beginning on Thursday, November 6, from 6 to 8 p.m., the first session of the series will be held at the Hastings Museum. Attendees will explore the theme “Entrepreneurial Spirit” as local business leaders share their journeys in building enterprises in Hastings, while the Museum presents a look at the city’s legacy of innovation and commercial growth.

Event Highlights

Local business owners Paul Hamelink (Paul’s Cigar Bar), Nichole Bryant (Bryant Books & Music), and Mikaela Kruger (Optika Curated Eyewear) will share insights from their entrepreneurial paths.

Curtis Gosser, Curator of Exhibits at the Hastings Museum, will present on Hastings’ historical milestones in business innovation.

The series runs monthly through May, with each session focusing on a different key topic:

  • November 6: Entrepreneurial Spirit
  • December 11: Financial Planning & Management
  • January 15: Pitching & Presentation Skills
  • February 5: Innovation & Creativity
  • March 12: Legal Considerations
  • April 9: Marketing & Branding for the Entrepreneur
  • May 7: Succession Planning & Your Business
