A Street to be closed for BNSF crossing work

The BNSF Railway is upgrading railroad ties and also placing concrete crossing pads for street crossing on the west set of tracks on A Street between Keystone and Emerson Avenues.

The City Street Department is working with BNSF and is scheduled to close the crossing on Tuesday morning, July 21, 2026. The BNSF Crews will follow with track work. Werner Construction will tear out about 10 feet on either side of the crossing to tie in the new concrete crossing pads to the existing asphalt street.

BNSF anticipates the work will be completed and the crossing will reopen by the end of the day on Friday.

BNSF replaced the railroad ties and placed concrete crossing pads for the east set of tracks in November 2024. The railroad also replaced crossings on B and D Streets in November 2024.

Emerson and Keystone Avenues, as well as West B Street, will serve as the detour during the crossing closure.
