Ninth Street to close at Burlington Avenue intersection for manhole work
The east side of the intersection at Ninth Street and Burlington Avenue, as well as the outside, northbound lane of Burlington Avenue at that intersection, will be closed beginning at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026 to facilitate repairs to the manhole located in the Ninth Street crosswalk. Dirt underneath the concrete has settled, which caused the concrete to settle. City water and sewer construction crews will remove the concrete, repack the dirt and pour concrete. Orange cones and signs will inform drivers of the closure before they approach the intersection. Work is anticipated to take about a week to complete.
