Diamond Engineering awarded contract for South Street work as lowest bidder
Bids were opened on July 29, 2026 for replacing the brick and asphalt South Street between Lincoln and Hastings Avenues with 9 inches of concrete. Diamond Engineering Co. of Grand Island was awarded the $75,684 contract as the lowest bidder.
Diamond’s bid included a proposed start date of Monday, Aug. 10.
Diamond’s schedule is weather dependent, but the contractor is targeting completion of the paving in approximately two weeks, so the newly placed concrete can be cured in the required seven days, and the street can re-open.
The completion date for the concrete work in the bid specifications was Tuesday, Sept. 1.
