Hastings Public Library to Celebrate National Library Card Sign Up Month in September
The Hastings Public Library is joining libraries nationwide in celebrating National Library Card Sign-Up Month this September. Since 1987, the American Library Association has designated September as a time to remind everyone of the power of a library card—the most valuable card in your wallet. This year’s theme is A Library Card Hits All the Right Notes.
To mark the occasion, the Hastings Public Library is hosting a grand prize drawing. Throughout September:
New sign-ups: Anyone who signs up for a library card will be entered.
Updates: Current cardholders who update their account information will also be eligible.
Scavenger Hunt: Complete a scavenger hunt around the Library to earn an extra entry.
The grand prize will draw two winners for two $50 Visa gift cards. All applications, updates, and scavnger hunts must be turned in by Sept. 30. The drawing winner will be announced on Oct. 1.
“You can’t hit a wrong note with an HPL library card,” said Sam Rundle, Programming and Collections Librarian. “What other card gets you books, digital media, online services, and so much more, all for free?”
