Wading pools to close for summer season after Labor Day, splash pad to continue
Labor Day, Sept. 7, 2026, marks the final of operation for the Heartwell Park and Lincoln Park wading pools, which will be drained on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
Labor Day weekend has traditionally marked the end of the season for the wading pools as well as the Libs Park splash pad. However, because the new splash pad, which was installed in 2025, is more efficient with water than the previous splash pad, the Parks and Recreation Department will look at extending the splash pad every season if the system is operating normally and the weather is warm. With high temperatures forecasted for the foreseeable future, the splash pad will not immediately close.
The Parks and Recreation Department will inform the public when the splash pad will close for the season.
