Hastings Public Library Participates in Second Annual Library Fall Crawl

Hastings Public Library is participating in the second annual Library Fall Crawl, a statewide event inviting Nebraskans to explore libraries throughout the state from Sept. 1 through Nov. 30, 2026.

More than 100 libraries in 109 Nebraska communities are participating in this year’s Library Fall Crawl, giving residents an opportunity to discover new libraries, attend programs, explore unique spaces and learn about the many resources available at libraries across the state.

Library Fall Crawl booklets are available for free at Hastings Public Library. Participants can take their booklet with them as they visit participating libraries throughout Nebraska. At each library, visitors will receive a sticker to mark their stop in their booklet.

“Libraries are so much more than a building with books, and the Fall Crawl is a fun way to experience that firsthand,” said Sam Rundle, Programming & Collections Supervisor. “Every library has something a little different to offer, and we’re excited to welcome Fall Crawl participants to Hastings while encouraging our community to see what other libraries around Nebraska have to offer.”

Participants who collect stickers from at least 10 different libraries can enter a statewide prize drawing. The center page of the booklet can be turned in at their home library or at the tenth library they visit. The Nebraska Regional Library Systems are sponsoring the event and providing four prize baskets, with one winner selected from each Library System. Winners will be announced Dec. 21, 2026.

There’s an additional reward for the most adventurous library explorers: anyone who visits more than 30 participating libraries will receive an exclusive 2026 Library Fall Crawl tote bag.

The Library Fall Crawl is sponsored by the Nebraska Regional Library Systems. This project is made possible by grants from the State of Nebraska and the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services, administered by the Nebraska Library Commission.
