Showboat Boulevard and J Street to serve as detour for Hastings Southeast project
Weather permitting on Monday, Sept. 21, U.S. Highway 6 will be detoured onto Showboat Boulevard/J Street as part of the Nebraska Department of Transportation's Hastings Southeast project, according to NDOT.
U.S. Highway 6 traffic will be detoured onto Showboat Boulevard and J Street. During this time, the newly constructed roundabout at South Street and Elm Avenue will be opened to the north and west. Access to local businesses will be maintained to the south of the roundabout. Construction will continue to the east of the roundabout to First Avenue as well as from B Street to the curve near J Street. Access to Good Samaritan Village will be maintained though D Street. This work will take approximately six to 10 weeks, expect traffic delays in the area. Work includes grading, storm sewer, concrete paving, and lighting.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
