Smart yard irrigation controllers are now available
The City of Hastings Water Department has smart yard irrigation controllers available to the public while supplies last.
Participants in the program agree to install the Rachio controller and allow the water department to adjust irrigation start times during periods of peak water demand throughout the duration of the program (May 1, 2027 to Dec. 31, 2031).
The smart yard irrigation controller program part of a municipal water conservation plan the City of Hastings submitted to the Little Blue Natural Resources District, which encompasses most of Adams County and the city of Hastings. The NRD is working to address declines in the underground water table within its territory.
Smart yard irrigation controller benefits include the following:

- Help conserve local water resources
- Automatically adjusts watering for weather.
- Ability to manage sprinklers from your phone.
