Lake Hastings lighting project nears completion

A&E Electric of Hastings is completing the installation of 29 20-foot LED lights along the Pioneer Spirit Trail, throughout the Lake Hastings park. The project began on May 22. Burlington Ave. outside, northbound lane of 600 block to close July 12

The City of Hastings Street Department is planning to close the outside, northbound lane of traffic on Burlington Avenue between Sixth and Seventh streets from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday, July 12. This is to accommodate Best Tree Service, which has been contracted by First Presbyterian Church.  

Bert's Pharmacy sign donated to Hastings Museum

The Hastings Museum received an iconic piece of local history on Thursday, July 6. Tom and Jalaene Choquette donated the large, orange and blue enamel sign with neon lights that had hung outside the Bert’s Pharmacy building, at 700 W.
