Headed out on a long car ride? On the waitlist for a title that's too good to stay on the shelf for long? Need something to binge read for a stay-in weekend? We've got what you need with our genrefied Kindles!

HOW IT WORKS

Our Kindles are available for check out with an active library card for three weeks and can be renewed up to two times. There are 16 in our collection. Each Kindle is dedicated to a specific genre and filled with a limited number of titles. You can make reservations for either the Kindle or title of the book you want.

Titles cannot be requested to be added to the Kindles, but the Kindles' contents are assessed regularly and new titles will be added periodically. Our dedicated collections staff will add titles based on checkouts and trends of popular titles.

There are two Kindles for the general, historical, and nonfiction as well as two for the biographies and memoirs device.

WHY THE UPDATE?

We hope to reduce wait times for popular titles that have longer waitlists for the printed book or on our digital library platforms. We also will be able to adhere to Amazon purchasing standards and continue to offer this additional avenue to checking out your favorite titles.

Plus, all of the titles on the Kindles have been added to our catalog. So, you can see if the title your looking for is available as a book on the shelf, a copy from our digital library platforms, or an ebook on a Kindle.
