Finance Department

The Finance Department provides financial management and accounting services for all City departments, divisions, funds and also the Public Power Generation Agency (PPGA). The Finance department is responsible for coordination of the budgeting process, financial forecasting, trends and audit preparation.  To control spending all funds are budgeted on a line-item cash basis, which is different than the financial statements that are prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).  The department maintains internal controls to ensure the prevention of fraud, waste and abuse of city funds.
