Community survey coming to an end
HASTINGS, NEBRASKA The time to complete a community survey for the new Hastings Comprehensive Plan is ending soon. Residents and business owners in Hastings are encouraged to provide their input via a digital survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HastingsCompPlanGen or by going to the project website at onthehorizonhastings.com. In addition, hardcopies are available at City Hall or the Hastings Public Library. The survey will be turned off at 8 a.m. on March 20, 2023.
Community input will still be collected via MindMixer and the Crowdsource Map on the website address above throughout the post. So far, 523 surveys have been completed. That is less than the 759 responses received when Hastings conducted a housing study in 2020.
"Based on that number, I know the community can get to 800 comprehensive plan responses," Project Manager Keith Marvin AICP said.
Public input helps shape the comprehensive plan and the comprehensive plan affects everyone in the community in some form or another; be it parks, transit, walkability, housing and more. It is important for community members to make their thoughts clear.
