Hastings Fire & Rescue raising money for rope equipment
As the early giving period for Give Hastings Day opens Wednesday, April 19, Hastings Fire & Rescue encourages public support for new rope equipment.
Hastings Fire & Rescue firefighters need new rope equipment to continue to provide exceptional rope rescue service to the community. The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) sets the safety standards for fire departments and according to the standard it is time to replace our old, non-compliant and outdated rope rescue equipment.
Hastings Fire & Rescue has a goal to raise $5,000 during Give Hastings Day on May 4, following the early giving period. Hastings Fire & Rescue will purchase as much new equipment as possible with the funds given, with more than $7,500 worth of rope equipment identified as necessary to purchase. Training is also needed, but not included within the goal amount.
