Lake Hastings lighting project nears completion
A&E Electric of Hastings is completing the installation of 29 20-foot LED lights along the Pioneer Spirit Trail, throughout the Lake Hastings park.
The project began on May 22.
The bid from A&E Electric was the lowest of two submitted to the city for the lighting project. The $109,544 project was paid for with American Rescue Plan Act funds.
The lights will allow trail users to use the trail more during the winter when daylight is shorter. Also, the lights will provide better security to trail users at nighttime.
