City Hall asbestos removal begins, extra space needed outside building
Great Plains Asbestos Control of Kearney recently began removal of asbestos-containing materials and mold remediation in the City Hall building at 220 N. Hastings Ave.
Large, rollaway receptacles have been placed on the south side of the building as part of the removal process.
The City of Hastings is requesting the public not to park near, and stay clear, of the areas directly around the building, especially the parking spots south of the building and on the east side to help contractors in the removal process.
The contract calls for the work to be finished in January 2024.
