On Monday Dec. 11, 2023, the Hastings Police Department served a search warrant at 922 North Washington Ave. This search warrant was obtained for the purpose of entering the residence to search for controlled substances. Information had been gathered prior to Dec. 11 to establish probable cause to apply for a search warrant. This warrant was reviewed and signed by an Adams County judge.

Several members of the Hastings Police Department worked this incident to include the Patrol Division, Detective Division, Drug Task Force, Patrol Service Dog team, the Nebraska State Patrol, and the Tri-Cities Drug Enforcement Team.

Upon arrival, the Hastings Police Department made contact with the male resident of the property who was detained without incident.

During the search of the property, large quantities of concentrated THC products and Marijuana were located along with the necessary items to package and distribute these products. More than $4,000 cash was seized in conjunction with the THC and Marijuana products. Also located during the search were what was believed to be destructive devices. The Nebraska State Patrol Bomb Squad was contacted and the devices were determined to be illegal destructive devices. The NSP Bomb Squad took possession of the devices for disposal.

At the conclusion of the search warrant, the male resident of the property, 47-year-old Christopher Faust, was placed under arrest for possession of controlled substance with the intent to distribute near a school (class 2 Felony), possession of destructive devices (class 4 Felony), and possession of money used or intended for the distribution of controlled substances (class 4 Felony).
