HPD addresses 911 outages

The Hastings 911 Center would like to thank everyone for their understanding during the recent 911 phone line outages we have been experiencing over the last several months. We would like to clarify some things so everyone understands these outages and the details surrounding them. 

  • Windstream Communications is the sole provider for 911 phone lines in the State Of Nebraska.  There are no other companies that 911 Centers can switch to for this service.
  • The Hastings 911 Center maintains a cellular phone line for emergencies that render both 911 and non-emergency lines useless. While dialing 402-705-9132 is not as quick or convenient as dialing 911, you will still be connected to a 911 Dispatcher.
  • The Hastings 911 Center, along with other 911 Centers that have been affected by these outages, have been in direct contact with the Public Service Commission of Nebraska requesting immediate action be taken to rectify the cause of these outages.
