Prevention, Safety & Education

Hastings Fire & Rescue stresses public education, fire prevention, code enforcement and preparedness.

Hastings Fire & Rescue’s Prevention Division works to inform and educate the public by participating in community events, as well as initiating its own programs.  One such program is the availability for station tours and public education.  Tours are available throughout the year but are most prevalent during fire prevention month in October.  Other activities that involve our fire prevention division are parades, National Night Out, school assemblies and many more.

The Prevention Division also offers fire extinguisher classes to local businesses, service groups and churches, as well as the general public.   Our department welcomes the opportunity to speak to groups of any age, size or background at any time.
