The Hastings Fire & Rescue Training Division provides guidance in daily crew trainings to encompass all department members' working shifts. It is designed to provide an average of two hours of training per 24 hour time frame. Guidelines and topics are chosen and study materials are provided by the shift officer to conduct the training evolutions.

Our training utilizes OSHA, NFPA, NFA, FEMA, NEMA, and local procedures to assist our department in preparing for our annual training requirements. These efforts also help us to assess our emergency service responsibilities to determine our training needs.

Our ultimate goal is to instill confidence and continuity, as well as promote a safe and effective delivery of an “all hazards” emergency response service to our community.
